Live music from Cumbrian musician Denis Westmorland. Please bring along your own Picnic supper. Tea and Coffee will be provided in the interval. A raffle will aid Village Hall funds. Music commences at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Admission £6.00 per person on the door.

Easter Fair….

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee will be holding an Easter Sunday Vintage, Collectable and Craft Fair on Sunday 9th April. There are a good variety of stalls booked in, selling Vintage, Collectable, Bric a Brac, Books, Jewellery, Jigsaws and Crafts. There will also be stalls raising money for Manorlands Hospice and The Cats protection league. Lots of bargains and unique items. Light refreshments served until 3.p.m. Event opens at 9.30.a.m until 4.p.m. Please pop in earlier if it is more convenient as most stalls are set up by 9.a.m. Admission just 50p.

Charity supper dance….

Funds will be raised for Education for vulnerable children in Zambia on Friday evening. A charity supper dance will be held and Elizabeth Harrison, the popular organist will be supplying the live music for the event. Please bring along your own Picnic supper, tea and coffee will be provided in the interval. Admission is £6.00 on the door. A raffle will be held. Broadway Fairs….

We do hope to welcome Sheila back to the Hall on Sunday ( 26th March )with her Broadway Flea Market and Craft Fair. Unfortunately Sheila was unwell when she held her last Fair at the end of February but she was able to travel home safely and has been resting since then. She plans to return on Sunday but if you wish to check all is still well before you visit the Fair please ring Sheila on 01757 229805 or ring Caroline on the day to check on 07989 585564.

There will be many stalls selling Collectables, Vintage, Books, Bric a Brac, Jigsaws, Watches and Crafts. Light refreshments available until 3.p.m. The event opens at 9.30.a.m until 3.30.p.m. Admission just 50p.

The next Fair will be on Easter Sunday April 9th and will be run by Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee, Sheila will be back at the end of the month on 30th April.

Film night…

Gargrave Cinema club will be showing the widely acclaimed film ” Mrs Harris goes to Paris” in the Village Hall on Friday evening ( 17th March). The comedy drama tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress and decides that she must have one of her own. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris which will not only change her outlook but the very future of Dior. The film stars Lesley Manville, Isabelle Huppert and Jason Isaacs.

The customary cafe style seating will be in place so please bring along your own refreshments. The Village Hall doors open at 7.p.m with the film starting at 7.30.p.m. Tickets are £5.00 on the door with accompanied under sixteens free.

On the 28th April there will be the showing of the comedy mystery ” See how they run”.

Dancing and Vintage,Collectable and Crafts……

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee are delighted to welcome back the stallholders and customers to their first Vintage, Collectable and Craft Fair of the year on Sunday. The Committee take a short break from organising the Fairs after Christmas to allow the Pantomime time to rehearse and perform and to avoid any bad weather – lets hope the forecasted snow has gone by Sunday!!

There will be a good selection of stalls selling Collectables, Vintage, Jewellery, Books, Jigsaws, Bric a Brac and Crafts. Lots of bargains and unique items. There will also be stalls selling a variety of goods which raise money for Hall funds and stalls raising funds for the Cats Protection league and Manorlands. 50p admission. Opening hours 9.30.a.m – 3.30.p.m.

Light refreshments will be available from 9.30.a.m until 3.p.m. The refreshments are all homemade and prepared and served by our great team of volunteers. Unfortunately Sheila our regular Caterer is not too well at present so the menu is not quite as comprehensive but you can be assured that there will be the tasty smells of bacon and sausage cooking all day, as well as a selection of homemade quiche ( with salad), toasted teacakes, tuna sandwiches, cheese sandwiches and of course a great selection of homemade cakes and scones ( take home available on these). First Book Fair of the year……

Have you finished all the books you were given at Christmas then call at the Village Hall on Saturday where you will find a treasure trove of hundreds of books for sale, from general easy read paperbacks and hardbacks through to specialist and antiquarian volumes. The first book Fair ( five are held during the year ) of the year will open at 10.a.m and close at 4.p.m. prompt. Admission is just 50p or by donation. Our fantastic team from the Management Committee and Gargrave Library will be providing homemade refreshments from 9.a.m until 3.p.m. Come along and feast on bacon and sausage sandwiches, cheese or tuna sandwiches and toasted teacakes, not forgetting lots of homemade cakes. Sadly Sheila our normal caterer is not too well at present so good wishes are extended to her.

Lots happening at the Hall this weekend….

The Cinema club will be showing the film Brian and Charles in the Village Hall on Friday evening, The film is a humorous story about loneliness, friendship , family and finding love. Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee jointly with Gargrave Library Committee will be holding a Coffee morning on Saturday in the Village Hall. There will be bacon sandwiches, toasted teacakes and a great selection of homemade cakes available. A raffle will aid Library funds and a Book and Bric a Brac stall will boost Hall funds. The Library 100 club draw will also take place.

Broadway Fairs will be hosting the Flea Market and Craft Fair on Sunday in the Village Hall. There will be lots of stalls selling affordable and unique items and charity stalls will also be there supporting Manorlands Hospice and The Cats Protection league. It was good to welcome back the local Plant stall last month and hopefully this will be a fixture throughout the year at all the Flea Market and Craft Fairs which from March will generally be held at fortnightly intervals. Its Panto time…

Jack and the Beanstalk will be performed at the Village Hall this weekend, Thursday night saw the first showing of the old favourite. Further performances take place on Friday night at 7.15.p.m and Saturday at 1.p.m and 5.p.m.

Tickets are £8 and £5 from the Dalesman Cafe and the Library or on the door at £9 and £6.
