Another busy weekend…..

There will be lots to see at the Village Hall this weekend ( 17th – 19th November ) commencing with the Cinema Club film night on Friday with the showing of the award winning mystery drama Where the Crawdads sing. The story follows an abandoned yet defiant girl who raises herself to adulthood in a North Carolina marshland. The towns playboy is found dead and she becomes the prime suspect. Away from the great plot the scenery and wildlife shots are stunning. The door open at 7.p.m with the film commencing at 7.30.p.m. Admission is £5.00 on the door . Accompanied under sixteens are free. A raffle will raise funds for the community library. Cafe style seating will be in place so please bring your own refreshments.

Sheila from Broadway Fairs will be hosting the two day Craft and Christmas gift fair on Saturday and Sunday. There will be lots of unique items to purchase, a really good opportunity to do some Christmas shopping. Some stalls will be there over the two days but some will just be selling on the Saturday and some just on the Sunday. So please come along on both days as there will be changes of stock. The Village Hall committee will have a stall selling a range of Craft books. The Craven Accordion group will be kindly playing some live music on the stage on Saturday from around 2.p.m for an hour or so. Admission is just 50p on the door and light refreshments are available until 3.p.m each day. The opening times are 9.30.a.m until 3.30.p.m each day. A dancing and Market weekend…..

The monthly Picnic supper dance will be held on Friday evening in the Village Hall. Live music will be provided by Cumbrian Accordion player Denis Westmorland. Music commences at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Please bring along your own Picnic supper. Tea and Coffee will be provided in the interval. Admission is £6.00 on the door. A raffle will aid Hall funds.

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee will be hosting their monthly Vintage, Collectables and Craft Fair on Sunday in the Village Hall. The Hall will be packed with a great variety of stalls selling Collectables, Vintage, Bric a Brac, Jewellery, Books, Jigsaws, Gifts and Crafts. Lots of unique yet very affordable items. Light refreshments available until 3.p.m. The event opens at 10.a.m until 3.30.p.m. but please call in earlier if it fits in better with your day’s other plans. Most stalls are set up for 9.a.m.

Only two more Markets (run by the Management Committee) before Christmas – November 13th & December 11th.

Broadway Fairs Markets before Christmas – October 30th & November 27th. Arts and Crafts Fair – November 19th & November 20th.

 

The weekend ahead – Friday 8th July onwards…

Local band The Silhouettes will be providing the live music on Friday evening for the monthly Picnic Supper Dance. Dancing commences at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Please bring along your own Picnic supper. Tea and Coffee will be served in the interval. A raffle will be held to aid Village Hall  funds. Admission is £6.00 on the door, cash only please.

A Summer showcase of Accordian music with the Craven Accordion Orchestra  and Orchester Musika Akkordia will be held on Saturday evening commencing at 8.p.m. For further details and tickets please contact 07401 768356 cravenaccordionorchestra1@gmail.com . Admission is by ticket only ( £7, concessions £5 ). Refreshments of tea, coffee, biscuits, soft drinks and crisps will be on sale in the interval raising money for Village Hall funds. A Charity raffle will be held in aid of `This is Luke`.

 

Don`t forget the annual Art Exhibition which commences next week on Thursday 14th July , Friday 15th July 11.a.m – 7.p.m, Saturday 16th July 10.a.m – 7.p.m and Sunday 10.a.m – 4.30.p.m. Free entry and light refreshments available. Please come along and enjoy the Golden Anniversary of the popular Exhibition.

Autumn Arts and Crafts Exhibition…….

The annual event is a great opportunity to buy some early Christmas gifts, there will be a fantastic selection of Crafts and Artwork, all available to purchase over a four day period. The event opens on Thursday the 18th October and runs through until Sunday the 21st October. Opening times are Thursday to Saturday 10.a.m until 6.p.m and on Sunday 10.a.m until 4.p.m.

Gargrave WI will be providing light refreshments each day.

Latest News

The Coffee morning on Saturday 20th January will  be held in aid of general Village Hall Funds. Forget the New Year diet come along and feast on hot buttered teacakes and a variety of homemade cakes ( sample Edwards famous Victoria Sandwich)!

A raffle will also aid Hall Funds. Edward may also be making a Cake for one of the Raffle prizes so please come along just in case  he does and if you win, you can eat a whole one!!!!!!!

Live Music and Dancing returns to Gargrave

The final Picnic Supper dance in 2017 will take place on Friday November 10, 2017 at Gargrave Village Hall.

Enjoy Sequence and Ballroom dancing with live music provided by Elizabeth Harrison.

The event starts at 1930 and is due to end at 2300.
