A Great weekend…..

The Jubilee celebrations at Gargrave Village Hall went down a treat. The weekend began on Friday with a special Royal Coffee morning, there was an abundance of homemade cakes and buns to enjoy. There were some great prizes to be won in the right Royal Raffle and memorabilia from the past seventy years raised funds for Manorlands. The icing on the cake was the surprise appearance of Tim the Sax man who played some popular tunes throughout the morning. A Book Fair was the filling in the sandwich of Jubilee events and this took place on Saturday ( the next one is a mid week event on August 16th, please save the date ). The busy team from the Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee together with their friends, Jane, Cath and Norma were back in action again on Sunday preparing and serving homemade afternoon tea for an appreciative and happy audience who loved the vocal performance from Andy Wiseman. A further Royal raffle was held with a different selection of prizes all with a royal theme. The audience sang along with lots of Andy`s popular and iconic song choices from the past seventy years and many also took to the dance floor. Everyone stood at the end to sing God save the Queen which was a fitting and touching end to a great afternoon. A very enjoyable weekend much of it attributed to our very talented local musicians, to whom we extend our very grateful thanks.
