Gargrave Village Hall will be kicking off the National Village Halls week a little early when it holds a joint Coffee morning with Gargrave Library volunteers on Saturday. The national campaign instigated by Action with Communities in rural England officially begins a couple of days later. The campaign intends to shine a spotlight on the contribution England`s 10,000 plus village halls make to rural communities and it gives the hall management committees an opportunity to celebrate their work and showcase their venues. Gargrave Village Hall like so many others has improved life for local residents, providing a safe place where people can gather to combat loneliness whilst delivering a wide range of activities and services.

The organisers of the Coffee morning would be delighted to welcome everyone on Saturday morning from 10.a.m onwards. Table service will be provided and there will be bacon sandwiches, toasted teacakes and homemade cakes on the menu. Slices of cake may also be purchased to take out.

A book, CD and DVD stall will aid Hall funds whilst proceeds from the raffle will go towards Library funds.

The Management committee at the Hall are pleased to also support fundraising for Manorlands Hospice and there will be a stall selling brand new Gents clothing together with a small selection of bric a brac. There is a lot of clothing!

If you are new to the Village please do ask one of the volunteers for a tour of the premises. They will be happy to show you around. Pocket booklets will also be available which list the 2022 dates for Vintage Fairs, Craft Fairs, Book Fairs, Jubilee Celebrations and monthly dances.

Next weekend there will be a film show on Friday evening . Blinded by the Light will commence at 7.30.p.m. Tickets £5.00 on the door and on Sunday the first Flea Market and Craft Fair of the year which commences at 10.a.m. Refreshments available. 50p admission.
