No open events this weekend…

A hectic weekend was enjoyed last week, both the Coffee morning and the Flea Market welcomed lots of customers. The Hall has a breather this Saturday and Sunday ( August 5th and 6th ) and will be closed to the public all weekend .

Up and coming events include a Picnic Supper dance on the 11th August and a mid week Book Fair on the 15th August. Further details on next weeks Post.

Two events to enjoy this weekend…..

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee together with Gargrave Library will be holding a Coffee morning on Saturday in the Village Hall. Bacon sandwiches, toasted teacakes and lots of homemade cakes will be served from 10.a.m. Slices of cake may be purchased to take home if a bacon sandwich proves to be too filling to manage both treats.

A book and bric a brac stall will aid Hall funds and a raffle will boost the Library funds. The Library 100 club draw will also be held and there is the opportunity to register your interest to join in future draws. The cash prize draws are held monthly.

Sheila from Broadway Fairs will be back at the Hall on Sunday. She will be hosting a Flea Market and Craft Fair. There are lots of stalls booked in for the event which commences at 9.30.a.m until 3.30.p.m. Light refreshments available until 3.p.m. Stallholders will be selling Vintage, Collectables, Bric a Brac, Books, Jigsaws, Gifts and Crafts. A weekend break…

There are no public events at the Hall this weekend. ( July 21st – 23rd ).

Congratulations to Harry Hinchcliffe and all the performers in the Accordion Orchestra, the summer showcase was thoroughly enjoyed by all last Saturday ( 15th July ).  Well done to everyone involved in the excellent evening.

A Musical weekend…..

A Picnic supper dance will be held on Friday evening in the Hall commencing at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Local band Silhouette will be providing the live music. Please bring along your own Picnic supper. Tea and Coffee will be provided in the interval. A raffle will aid Village Hall funds. Admission is £6.00 per person on the door.

The Craven Accordion Orchestra will be presenting its Summer showcase on Saturday evening with “Music from the Movies”. The event commences at 7.30.p.m. Tickets and £8 with Concessions £5. All proceeds go towards Diabetes UK.

Gargrave Art Exhibition

Gargrave Art Exhibition Committee are delighted to welcome artists and visitors to the Gargrave Art Exhibition. The show is one week earlier than “usual” but will include, as usual, many of the popular features such as the display from the Gargrave Art Group and delicious home-made treats from the Gargrave 2022 Group.

The committee are looking forward to showcasing all the exquisite, exuberant and entertaining artworks from local artists, professional and amateur alike, with Christine Thomas, the winner of our People’s Choice Vote, returning as the featured artist.

A very full weekend of events…..

A weekend packed with events at the Village Hall will commence  on Friday night 23rd June with a charity dance which is organised by local families who are regular supporters at our monthly Picnic supper dances. Denis Westmorland will be providing the live music for the event which commences at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Please bring along your own Picnic supper, tea and coffee will be provided. Another busy weekend…..

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee will be hosting the Collectable and Craft Fair on Sunday. This will be their last one until August Bank Holiday Monday ( Broadway Fairs will be hosting Fairs on the last Sunday of each month but please continue to check out this site as Sheila the organiser is currently under the weather ). The Management Fair on Sunday promises to be a bumper edition as there are a number of new stalls, some just one off, either due to downsizing or the unfortunate task of clearing parents homes. There will be a great selection of items, all at bargain prices and with unique items for sale on the craft stalls ( again some new faces ). The event opens at 9.30.a.m but please pop in earlier if it fits in better with your plans for the day, most stalls are set up by 9.a.m. Event closes 4.p.m. Light refreshments available until 3.p.m. 50p admission. Hundreds of books!

Gargrave Village Hall will be a haven for book lovers on Saturday ( 3rd June ) when a Book Fair will be held from 10.a.m until 4.p.m. There will be hundreds and hundreds of books for sale covering every subject and they will range from general paperback titles through to specialist and antiquarian volumes. Break the visit with light refreshments which will be on sale from 10.a.m until 3.p.m. Admission is just 50p or by donation. Be assured of a warm welcome from everyone. Bank Holiday weekend events…

On Friday May 26th Gargrave Cinema Club will be showing their last film of the season with Woman at War. A well acted and thoughtful comedy drama from Iceland. Cafe style seating will be in place so please bring along your own refreshments. Village Hall doors open at 7.p.m with the film starting at 7.30.p.m. Tickets are £5.00 on the door with accompanied under sixteens free. The film shows will restart in September for the Autumn/Winter season.
