Come along to the Village Hall on Friday evening ( December 20th ) to enjoy the screening of a festive film, The Holdovers. This heart-warming and humorous film tells the tale of a grumpy teacher who is left to supervise a handful of unruly students stuck in their boarding school over the Christmas break The leading actors are Paul Giamatti, Da Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa. The customary Cafe style seating will be in place so please bring your own refreshments. The Village Hall doors open at 7.p.m with the film commencing at 7.30.p.m. Tickets are £5.00 on the door, cash only please, Accompanied under sixteen year olds are free. Sorry but only guide dogs are allowed to this event. All proceeds from the film nights go toward the running costs of the Community Library.
There is a treat in store at the Coffee morning on Saturday when the Craven Accordion Orchestra will be playing. There will no doubt be a few festive tunes abounding. The Coffee morning is a joint venture between Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee and Gargrave Library. Come along and enjoy the music ( free admission ) and purchase a bacon sandwich, toasted teacake and/or a selection of homemade cakes. The Library 100 club Christmas draw will take place around 11.30.a.m and there will also be a raffle to raise funds for the Library. A book and Bric a Brac stall will raise funds for the Village Hall. Open 10.a.m – Noon.
Once the festivities of Christmas day are over, there is the afternoon tea dance to look forward to on Friday 27th December commencing at 2.p.m until 4.p.m. The Twixmas ( between Christmas and New Year ) dance will be hosted by Cath and Richard who will be providing a selection of music from the musicals and movies for popular sequence dancing. Admission is £3.00 per person on the door, cash only please. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served in the interval. Proceeds for Hall funds.
