Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who donated or helped with the annual Jumble sale which was held on the 4th October. We had a great team of almost forty people either helping the day before or on the day ( some on both days ) and without them the event could not be held. Special thanks to the kitchen staff who did a great job. Many many thanks to the buyers who turned out in the awful weather. We are delighted to say that approximately £2,900 was raised for the Village Hall funds.
Back to this weekend – A new and exciting venture begins in the Village Hall on Friday. An invitation is extended to all the menfolk in the area who may be fed up of the household chores, need an excuse to avoid the dreaded shopping trip or simply want some male company where they can enjoy a social chat, a game of dominoes, cards or chess in warm and friendly surroundings. Aptly named Man Friday, the group will be meeting on a fortnightly basis ( if there is enough interest this could be weekly) in the match room, access is via the back door and a sharp turn right on entry.There will be a £3 charge which will cover unlimited hot drinks and biscuits. Please do come along, bring your friends and at the same time meet new ones and polish up on your domino skills!. Opening hours are 10.a.m until Noon.
A Picnic supper dance will be held on Friday evening from 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m. Live music from the local group Silhouette. Admission £6.00 per person on the door, cash only please. Please bring your own Picnic supper, tea and coffee will be provided in the interval.
A Collectable and Craft Fair will be held in the Hall on Sunday. Lots of stalls filling both the hall and side room. Food available all day. Lots of unique and affordable items: Antiques, Collectables, Bric a Brac, Books, Vintage, Gifts, Jewellery,Small furniture, Plants, Jigsaws and Crafts.Tombola in aid of the Cats Protection League. The majority of stalls can only accept cash please and this includes sales of food. Admission 50p. Open 9.30.a.m – 3.30.p.m. Please pop in earlier if it fits in better with the days plans, most stalls are set up by 9.a.m
