A Quiet weekend……

The Management Committee at the Village Hall can take a well earned rest this weekend as they have no events taking place ( 20th and 21st May ).

The last film night of the season will be held next Friday ( 26th May ) at 7.30.p.m. The comedy drama `Woman at War` tells the story of Halla an environmental eco warrior , the film is set in the stunning Icelandic landscape. Please bring along your own refreshments. Tickets £5.00 on the door.

Broadway Fairs Flea Market and Craft Fair will be held on the Sunday, 27th May. 10.a.m -3.30.p.m. Enquiries 01757 229805.

God save the King….

Thanks to all who came along to celebrate the Kings Coronation at the Village Hall on Sunday ( 7th May ). The popular local group Silhouette played live music throughout the afternoon and in the interval a homemade tea was served with endless cups of tea. Everyone had a good time and it was great to see some of the audience dancing especially the lovely lady from Neville House Care Home who even managed to find a younger dance partner! Special thanks to all those on Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee and their friends who decorated the Hall ( inside and out ), prepared all the sandwiches, served the afternoon tea and tidied up at the end of a long day. Big thanks to our two wonderful ladies who baked all the scones and cupcakes. There were lucky winners too who went home with some Royal raffle prizes but most importantly everyone went home having shared some special memories in celebrating the Coronation.

Next weekend is a busy one too for the Management Committee with a Picnic supper dance on Friday evening ( 12th May ) and live music from Alan Cookson. Please bring along your own Picnic Supper, tea and Coffee will be served in the interval. A raffle will aid Hall funds. Admission £6.00 per person on the door. Music commences at 7.30.p.m until 11.p.m.

A Vintage, Collectable and Craft Fair will be held on Sunday ( 13th May ) from 9.30.a.m until 4.p.m. Light refreshments available until 3.p.m. Lots of stalls selling Vintage, Collectables, Bric a Brac, Jewellery, Books, Jigsaws and Crafts. There will also be stalls raising funds for The Cats Protection League and Manorlands Hospice. Admission just 50p. Enquiries 07989585564.

Back to a busy weekend!

A hectic weekend begins with the showing of the widely acclaimed film “See how they run”  on Friday evening (28th April)   A comedy mystery which stars Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody and Ruth Wilson. The customary Cafe style seating will be in place, so please bring your own refreshments. The Village Hall doors open at 7.p.m with the film starting at 7.30.p.m. Tickets are £5.00 on the door with accompanied under sixteens free.

A Coffee morning jointly organised by Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee and the Library Committee will be held on Saturday morning from 10.a.m. Bacon sandwiches, toasted teacakes and lots of homemade cakes will be on the menu. A bric a brac and book stall will aid Hall Funds and proceeds from the raffle will go towards Library funds. The Library 100 club draw will also take place.

Sheila from Broadway Fairs will be hosting the Flea Market and Craft Fair on Sunday. There will be lots of stalls selling Vintage, Collectables, Bric a Brac, Books, Jigsaws and Crafts. Easter Fair….

Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee will be holding an Easter Sunday Vintage, Collectable and Craft Fair on Sunday 9th April. There are a good variety of stalls booked in, selling Vintage, Collectable, Bric a Brac, Books, Jewellery, Jigsaws and Crafts. There will also be stalls raising money for Manorlands Hospice and The Cats protection league. Lots of bargains and unique items. Light refreshments served until 3.p.m. Event opens at 9.30.a.m until 4.p.m. Please pop in earlier if it is more convenient as most stalls are set up by 9.a.m. Admission just 50p.

Charity supper dance….

Funds will be raised for Education for vulnerable children in Zambia on Friday evening. A charity supper dance will be held and Elizabeth Harrison, the popular organist will be supplying the live music for the event. Please bring along your own Picnic supper, tea and coffee will be provided in the interval. Admission is £6.00 on the door. A raffle will be held. Broadway Fairs….

We do hope to welcome Sheila back to the Hall on Sunday ( 26th March )with her Broadway Flea Market and Craft Fair. Unfortunately Sheila was unwell when she held her last Fair at the end of February but she was able to travel home safely and has been resting since then. She plans to return on Sunday but if you wish to check all is still well before you visit the Fair please ring Sheila on 01757 229805 or ring Caroline on the day to check on 07989 585564.
