Please come along to the Coffee morning on Saturday 28th June when there will also be a sale of local artwork from the late Robert Kirkbride. The family of Bob have asked that proceeds from the sale go to Village Hall funds. Bob was a talented amateur artist who lived all his life in the Village. He died in 1998 and left his works to his niece who sadly passed away earlier this year. The majority of the pictures feature scenes in and around the Village, mainly water colour but one or two pastels. There are framed originals and also smaller prints.

Bob liked to re-call to his nephews and nieces that his claim to fame was the responsibility of carrying Edward Heaths ( the then Prime Minister) umbrella at Iain Macleods funeral in 1970. Iain was Chancellor of the Exchequer in Heaths Conservative government and his funeral was held at St. Andrews church.

The Coffee morning is organised jointly between Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee and Gargrave Library Committee. There will be bacon sandwiches, toasted teacakes and lots of homemade cakes on the menu. A raffle will aid Library funds and sales from a Book and Bric a Brac stall will go to Village Hall funds.

Do please come along and see the artwork, you may even recognise yourself on some of the scenes. The prints would make great Christmas gifts.
