A Coffee morning incorporating the sale of Artwork from the late Robert Kirkbright ( sorry Bob I changed your name on the advertising posters to Kirkbride)! will be held on Saturday ( 28th June ) morning. The event is organised jointly between Gargrave Village Hall Management Committee and Gargrave Library. We are thrilled to have received the donation of the Artwork from Bobs family, his work was handed down to his niece Lesley who sadly passed away in Milton Keynes earlier this year. Her family in turn decided they would like to return the work to the Village and for the sale of the work to raise funds for the Village Hall . Bob was born in 1910 and lived at the same house on South Street until his death in 1998. That area of the Village features on some of his work as does Church Street, Damside, Chew Lane,The river bridge, Eshton Beck, and more. There are orginal paintings and also smaller prints, the latter will make smashing birthday or Christmas gifts. The prints have been left unframed so its nice to be able to choose a frame in your own style. One of the larger original paintings is of The medieval market on the high street in Skipton. Most of the work is in watercolour, some in pastel. All work is sensibly priced, cash payment would be preferred if possible please.
Come along from 10.a.m until Noon to view the work and enjoy a drink, a bacon sandwich, toasted teacake and/or homemade cake. There will also be a book stall and a Bric a Brac stall raising funds for the Hall. A raffle will be held in aid of Library funds and it is likely that the 100 club library draw will be taking place too. A busy morning- please come and join us you will be assured of a warm welcome.
