The Art section at Gargrave Village Hall was originally set up in the 1960`s and provided an Annual Summer exhibition to support the Village Hall. The exhibition consists of artworks, primarily by local artists, including original paintings, photographs and sculptures. The majority of the art work is for sale, there may also be artist workshops, artists in residence and special exhibitions in the side rooms.

Gargrave Church of England Primary school and Gargrave Pre-School also display their children’s work and a local florist provides some wonderful flower arrangements to further enhance the exhibition and great refreshments are provided.

The annual Gargrave Summer Art Exhibition will be taking place on the 10th – 13th July 2025.

Entry forms will be sent to artists at the beginning of May and will also be available on our website www.gargraveart.uk and Gargrave and Malhamdale Community Library, based inside the Gargrave Village Hall. Friends and supporters will be contacted during May and June. We thank you in advance for your support!

The Co-Chairs of the Art Exhibition Committee, Sheila Bamford and Sarah Kirk, along with the full Committee look forward to welcoming you in the summer.

If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact  gargravearts@gmail.com

To support the fantastic work of the Annual Summer Exhibition and to provide a community based focus for the Arts, the Gargrave Art Group was set up in 2014 and meets each Monday afternoon in the Village Hall Annex from 1p.m. to 3.30.p.m. Members also hold their own show within the summer event. The ethos of the group is self- supporting and whilst there is no formal tuition, the group has a varied mix of artistic talent and experience, including textiles, so knowledge is happily shared between members. A changing monthly theme provides additional creative focus, or alternately, members can just do their own thing!

Membership of the group is currently £2.00 per visit. For more details please contact Hilary McCormac 01756 749593,
