The Art section at Gargrave Village Hall was originally set up in the 1960`s and the first  annual Art Exhibition was held in June 1970 . The exhibition  now welcomes over a thousand visitors every year  and with both amateur and professional artists of all ages working in a wide variety of styles and media, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The majority of the art work is for sale and in addition to the main exhibition, there are also displays from  Gargrave Church of England Primary school, Gargrave Guides and the residents of Milton House Nursing home. Young artists are also welcome to exhibit and sell their work in the main show. Homemade light refreshments are available from Gargrave 2022 group

The annual Gargrave Summer Art Exhibition will take place on the 10th – 13th July 2025 at Gargrave Village Hall. Admission to the event is free.

Having been unable to host a show for two years because of the pandemic this will be the fifty fourth time that artists, volunteers from Gargrave and visitors can come together to celebrate local talent and creativity and help raise funds for the Village Hall. Please come along and take a look in July!

To support the fantastic work of the Annual Exhibition and to provide a community based focus for the Arts, the Gargrave Art Group was set up in 2014 and meets each Monday afternoon in the Village Hall Annex from 1.30.p.m to 3.30.p.m. Members also hold their own show within the summer event. The ethos of the group is self supporting and whilst there is no formal tuition at present the group has a varied mix of artistic talent and experience, including textiles, so knowledge is happily shared between members. A changing monthly theme provides additional creative focus, or alternately, people can just do their own thing!

Membership of the group is currently £2.00 per visit. Further details please contact Hilary McCormac 01756 749593
